Update: Trumped up Murder Charges on Son of Activist in Nashville

Update:
Kwesi's son, Ravaughn was arraigned last week. We are now awaiting a date for a bond hearing. Some of us will travel to Nashville to be present for this hearing and show support for Ravaughn and the Harris family. Some of you who know Ravaughn may be called upon to write letters of support.

In the meantime, we want to create a circle of love and strength around Kwesi and his family. Send an e-mail to boafo4u@aol.com if you'd like to give a personal message of encouragement.

We also must raise funds to help the family with legal expenses.
Please send donations to:
Ronald Harris
7938 S. Sacramento Ave.
Chicago, IL 60652

(Make checks payable to Ronald Harris)

A support event is being organized and we'll send details as they become available.
If you'd like more information about the case or about Ravaughn, send us an e-mail.

Peace,
Chavunduka and Kwame

Here was the first email I received. I haven't seen a page up about it yet, but I'll keep Afrikans updated here.

Brothers & Sisters,

One of our warrior's sons has gotten caught in a trap. I hope we will all help to free him.

Our dear brother Kwesi Ron Harris' son Ravaughn, a graduate of Simeon High School and now a senior at Tennessee State University, has been arrested in Nashville and we are very troubled to report that he has been charged with murder. Brother Kwesi, his wife Donna and their family need our help to cover the cost for Ravaughn's legal defense. Please consider what you can afford to give and be prepared to act. We will be circulating instructions for sending your donations on Wednesday. Hopefully we'll have more details on what happened by then.

Please keep Ravaughn, Brother Kwesi and his family in your prayers.

Peace and Blessings
Kwame and Chavunduka

You know we support this automatically and withuot question. We know who we are dealing with and so do they. But I think I missed the details of this story somewhere -- makes it easier to bring to the community for support. It says update...where are our facts readily available?

Greetings:

Family unfortunately this is nothing new! Brother Obadele I remember when you were in a similar situation there in Chicago. Fortunately for you, you were exonerated! I don't know all the details surrounding this brother's case. However, I'm from Chicago and through my own experiences growing up there, I know the Chicago Police Dept. is one of the most RACIST and CORRUPT in this country! Obadele your father Baba Kamau Kambon said several years ago, "We (Blacks) are in a war"! It behooves Black people to understand this and heed this wise elders words! Continuing to ignore the obvious will only lead to the further destruction of our race! My solidarity and support goes out to brother Ravaughn and his family!

UPSET THE SETUP!
